How to add bullet points to a LinkedIn post

  1. Pick a bullet symbol

Tap a symbol to copy it. It also becomes the bullet for the list maker, so you can paste it alone or build a whole list.

  2. Paste your points, one per line

Type or paste your list into the list maker. Existing dashes, numbers or bullets at the start of a line are replaced, not doubled.

  3. Copy the list into LinkedIn

Tap Copy list and paste it into your post, About section or experience. The bullets stay because they are plain Unicode characters.

Which bullet point to use on LinkedIn

• or ▪ for plain lists. They are the quietest options and read well in long experience descriptions.

→ or ➤ for steps and takeaways. Arrows suggest movement, which suits a process or a list of lessons.

✓ for results and features. Check marks work for what you delivered or what is included.

Emoji for a short, casual list. Keep it to one kind of emoji per list so the post does not look busy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add bullet points on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn posts, the About section and experience descriptions have no bullet button. Copy a bullet symbol from this page and paste it at the start of each line, or paste all your lines into the list maker above and copy the finished list in one go.
What is the bullet point symbol to copy and paste?
The standard bullet is • (Unicode U+2022). Tap it at the top of the page to copy it. White bullets ◦, small squares ▪, arrows → and check marks ✓ work the same way.
Do bullet symbols work in the LinkedIn About section and experience?
Yes. They are plain Unicode characters, so they paste into posts, comments, the About section, experience descriptions and messages, and show up on desktop and mobile.
How do I type a bullet point on my keyboard?
On a Mac, press Option and 8. On Windows, hold Alt and type 0149 on the number pad. On a phone, long-press the hyphen or a symbol key on many keyboards. Copying from this page works on any device.
Should I use emoji as bullet points?
Sometimes. A 👉 or ✅ makes a short list easy to scan, but a post full of emoji bullets can look busy, and screen readers announce each emoji by name. For longer lists, a simple • or → is easier to read.
Is this bullet point tool free?
Yes. It is free with no signup, and everything runs in your browser. The text you convert never leaves your browser.
