How to create a LinkedIn QR code

  1. Copy your LinkedIn URL

Open your LinkedIn profile or company page and copy the address, or just type your username. The part after linkedin.com/in/ is your username.

  2. Paste it into the generator

The QR code updates as you type. Tracking parameters are removed so the code stays clean and easy to scan. Pick a color if you want one.

  3. Download and test it

Download PNG for documents and slides, or SVG for print. Scan it once on a phone where you are not signed in to LinkedIn. If you see a sign-in wall, turn on your public profile visibility.

How to find your QR code in the LinkedIn app

LinkedIn also has a built-in QR code for your own profile. In the mobile app, tap the QR code icon in the search bar at the top of the home screen, then open the My code tab. From there you can share the code (on iPhone) or save it to your photos. The same screen has a Scantab for scanning someone else's code. These steps come from LinkedIn's help page on QR codes.

The app code is handy when you are standing next to someone. Use the generator on this page when you need a file: a company page code, a code for a specific post, or a high-resolution version for print.

Where to use a LinkedIn QR code

Business cards. A QR code saves people from typing your name into search and picking the wrong profile.

Last slide of a talk or webinar. Put the code next to a one-line reason to connect, while the audience still remembers you.

Event badges, booths and flyers. Use the SVG so the code stays sharp when it is printed large.

Email signatures and resumes. A small PNG works, but also keep a plain text link for people reading on a phone.

Make the profile worth the scan

A QR code only gets someone to your profile. Whether they connect or follow depends on what they see there: your headline, your About section and your latest posts.

Before you print, run your profile through the LinkedIn profile analyzer and tighten your headline with the headline generator.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a QR code for my LinkedIn profile?
Paste your LinkedIn profile URL or username into the generator above and download the code as PNG or SVG. You can also use the code built into the LinkedIn mobile app: tap the QR code icon in the search bar at the top of the home screen and open the My code tab.
Where do I find my LinkedIn profile URL?
On desktop, open your profile and copy the address from the browser bar; it looks like linkedin.com/in/your-name. In the mobile app, open your profile, tap the More button (three dots), choose Contact info and copy the URL under Your Profile.
Does a LinkedIn QR code expire?
Codes from this generator do not expire. The QR code holds your linkedin.com URL directly, with no redirect or short link in between, so it keeps working for as long as that URL does. If you change your custom profile URL, make a new code.
Can I make a QR code for a LinkedIn company page?
Yes. Paste the company page URL, for example linkedin.com/company/your-company, and the generator makes a code for it. It also works for school pages, showcase pages, posts, articles and newsletters. Use the full linkedin.com link rather than an lnkd.in short link.
What is the difference between this and the QR code in the LinkedIn app?
The app gives you one code for your own profile, in LinkedIn's style. This generator works from a desktop, takes any LinkedIn URL including company pages and posts, lets you pick a color, and exports a large PNG or an SVG that stays sharp at any print size.
What size should a QR code be on a business card?
A common rule of thumb is at least 2 x 2 cm (about 0.8 inches) on a business card, and larger on posters or slides that people scan from a distance. Keep the white border around the code and print it dark on a light background. Test the printed proof with a phone camera before you order.
Is this LinkedIn QR code generator free?
Yes. It is free with no signup and no watermark. The code is generated in your browser, and the URL you enter never leaves it.
