AuthoredUp Alternative: Editing, AI Drafting and Client Voices

Choose an AuthoredUp alternative for a missing workflow, not for an outdated feature table. AuthoredUp's established strengths are editing, previews and analytics. It now advertises Coauthor AI in beta, so “AuthoredUp has no AI” is no longer a fair comparison.

AuthoredUp's pricing is the source for its plans and labels Coauthor as closed beta. The product overview describes the editor. Its July 21 release news instead describes first-come beta access for trial and paid accounts. These availability descriptions differ: ask about current access and credits before treating AI as part of your guaranteed workflow.

When to keep AuthoredUp

If you already write useful posts and mainly need formatting, draft organization or analytics, you may not need another paid product. Test whether the editor removes your actual friction before adding a second subscription.

A manual writer should not pay extra merely to get a generated draft they do not want. If Coauthor is available to your account, evaluate it before assuming you must switch to get personalized writing.

When to try WriteHero

Try WriteHero when starting a draft in your own voice is the bottleneck, or when several client voices need to stay separate. Pro includes one profile; Ghostwriter includes up to 10. Paid plans include unlimited posts, personalized inspiration, previews, scheduling and analytics.

WriteHero Pro's public base price is $29 USD with monthly billing or $228 USD billed for a full year. Check Pro pricing for currency and tax, or Ghostwriter pricing for the client-profile plan. Annual billing is not a month-to-month subscription. The trial lasts 14 days and does not require a card.

Those prices do not establish which product saves you more editing. Nor does a voice profile make every generated sentence accurate. Review facts, names and any story attributed to a client before publication.

A fair test for AI and formatting

Use the same permitted writing samples, factual brief and intended audience. If you cannot access Coauthor, record “not available to this account” rather than scoring it as a bad writer.

For editing, paste the same draft into each available editor. Check paragraphs, links and how the first lines look on a narrow screen. For AI, note invented facts and sentences you had to rewrite.

If you only need a quick formatting check, use the free text formatter and post preview. Unicode styling can be harder for screen readers and search to interpret; keep the important meaning in normal text.

What WriteHero does not replace

WriteHero does not promise every AuthoredUp readability control, organization feature or data-export workflow. Check each feature you rely on before cancelling anything. There is no need to migrate historical analytics just to test a new draft.

A browser extension is not, by itself, proof of unsafe behavior. Review permissions and actions, and distinguish manual editing from automated engagement. No third-party integration can guarantee that a LinkedIn account will never be restricted.

Switch one step at a time

Keep a copy of your drafts. Try a single future post in the new workflow, verify the profile and time, and leave the old calendar intact until you know what is moving. Cancel through the old product's billing settings only after you have decided to continue.
